Another burrito I had at one of the 15-20 taquerias we went to in the Mission District of San Francisco. I wanted to highlight in this post, mainly to Kofron, that I am eating a very green sauce. It’s actually good!!!! Despite the green, it’s good. And as usual when I dont get a burrito from Chipotle, I had to fish out a single green pea. Ewww.

Bert’s Bergers Episode 9: Gettin some grub with Devon and Bennett of Moth Vegas. They’re working on some really cool shit right now, find Moth Vegas on facebook to keep up with their project. Anyways, this is the first cheeseburger I got. Well i had one from McDonalds before but it was an accident because they fucked up my order. We tried to go to Squealing Pig first but they only had a late night menu, then went to Penguin Pizza but there was a huge wait so we went to TGI FRIDAYS. I was psyched because I haven’t been there for a long time and I love it. I got french onion soup, which I have grown to love a lot. Then I got this Jack Daniels Cheeseburger which is amazing and I paid the extra 99 cents to upgrade to sweet potato fries. Absolutely delicious meal. And I remembered if you’re a Friday’s member (which I am not), they give you free chips and salsa. So I told them I was a member and they said ok you can put in your phone number when you pay. The only person I knew who was a Friday’s member was an exgirlfriend. I figured no big deal, I’ll just use her number. But then I realized I didn’t have her home number in my phone. So I asked Ben to ask Laura if she had it, she didn’t. But don’t worry because when we paid, the bartender never asked for the number and she didn’t charge for the chips/salsa so crisis averted!!! I know Friday’s isn’t “cool” cause it’s a chain, but fuck off.. it’s good.

Went on a bit of a food rampage the last couple hours we had to kill before leaving for the airport. This is some kind of lemon pie I got at Mission Pie in San Francisco. This place looked really good and I was psyched to try it, but I wish I had blueberry or something. This one did not tasted like lemon. Well it kind of tasted like the lemon peels. It sucked but like a fatass I ate it anyway. Whipped cream was good? -Jon
Buckets of chips at Puerto Alegre. I asked how much it’d be to buy one of them and they said not for sale, so bummer. But I’d say this is a pretty reasonable approximation of how many chips I ate during my week in San Francisco. THEIR SALSA IS SO GOOD I CANNOT STOP EATING AND THEY REFILL! San Francisco is awesome.
Stopped for lunch in Santa Cruz with Tony and Matt. This sandwich was pretty good but this was probably the only regret we have from the whole trip. We payed premium tourist prices for mediocre food during the off season, so it felt stupid. I paid $25 for a margarita and a sandwich. Not terrible, but we could do better than that. But please do take note of how fucking healthy this looks (minus the fries). Peppers and onions and chicken.

Matt, Tony, and I rented a car to drive down the coast from San Francisco and stopped at a random fruit stand on the side of the road. These are the best raspberries I’ve had in so long because shitty Boston only believes in selling awful raspberries. OHH the best thing about San Francisco is that a box of blueberries is only 99 FUCKING CENTS. I pay 6 bucks from wholefoods here and still have to throw half of them away. I could pay $5 and get them at Shaws, but then I’d be throwing 2/3s away. Boston needs to get their shit together when it comes to fruit. And quickly because it’s the only healthy thing I like.

The burrito I get from Puerto Alegre. It’s huge and delicious. Looking at this picture makes me want to get on a plane right now back to San Francisco to get it again. It was so good. Needless to say, if you’re ever in SF, I highly recommend this place. This place is in the Mission District on Valencia street. Also check out a bar/venue called Elbo Room right near it.. met the owner Eric talking about music and he gave me a tour and free drinks.

Spring break to San Francisco was fucking awesome, especially the food. It was the first time for me exploring Mexican food other than Chipotle, and I got obsessed with it. Jesus christ they know how to make good salso over there. This was from my favorite restaurant ever Puerto Alegre. $20 margarita pitchers and unlimited refills of chips and salsa. And they bring a new batch the minute you finish the previous. Ate here way too many times during the week. -Jon
The free meal I get when I visit my sister.. steak tips and a crepe with nutella, blueberries, and raspberries. Seriously amazing combo. I wish I went to BU just for this dining hall. Thanks Melissa!
Steak and baked potato from Grendel’s in Harvard Square. Half price during happy hour, so that’s gawl damn clutch. Steak was pretty good, not the best but it was big and cheap so I enjoyed it immensely. Also it was my first time trying baked potato, I liked it! And don’t worry, I did not touch that horrible looking salad. -Jon

Met Tony for breakfast at Steve’s Kitchen in Allston one morning before doing some recording at the practice space. Got some blueberry pancakes.. really good. I’m in a huge breakfast food phase.
